Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Echo Lab is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 for a full-time day shift, Monday–Friday. The lab emphasizes clinical excellence, education, and research, with access to advanced Philips equipment and 3D/strain imaging.

Eligible for sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. The role requires ARDMS RDCS or equivalent certification, BLS, and at least one year of post-registry cardiac/vascular sonography experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography.
• Five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting.
• ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification for Echo, or ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS certification for vascular.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and address clinical/emergent problems affecting exams and coordinate with physicians.
• Demonstrate proper technique for IV contrast administration and ensure supplies are ready.
• Accurately identify patients and orders; maintain active credential status; attend QA conferences.
• Maintain patient safety and aseptic technique; document adverse conditions.
• Troubleshoot echo vascular equipment and perform routine maintenance for quality imaging.
• Work schedule: Monday–Friday Days; no holidays or weekends.
• Education: Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program; five years of hospital training.
• License: ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS for Echo; ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS for Vascular.
• Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
• Experience: One year of post-registry experience in cardiac or vascular sonography.
