Job summary

SUN Behavioral Houston is seeking a registered pharmacist to interpret prescriptions, dispense medications, and serve as a drug information resource for patients and staff. The role requires on-call availability and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The Pharmacist will supervise pharmacy operations, ensure formulary compliance, and collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient care across pediatric to adult populations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a College or School of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
• Current Pharmacist licensure from the state of employment.
• CPR certification, which may be obtained in orientation.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriate formulations.
• Monitors orders in the CPOE system for allergies, interactions, and dosing safety.
• Dispenses drugs and maintains medication inventory and records.
• Provides drug information to physicians, nurses, patients and staff regarding use, interactions and storage.
