Job summary

IU Health Riley Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor with a Master’s degree and Indiana licensure to provide individual, group, and family counseling, plus utilization review and discharge planning. You will collaborate with the care team to interpret complex needs and mobilize community resources.

This PRN role requires experience in psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and evidence-based practices (CBT/MI/DBT).

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
• Requires 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Requires active Indiana license (LCSW/LMHC/LMFT/LCAC/HSPP).
• Crisis intervention certification may be required; BLS may be required.
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, DBT and protective services requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates individual, group, and family counseling.
• Interprets and communicates patient/family needs to the care team.
• Performs utilization review and discharge planning.
• Acts as liaison with state and county protective services teams.
• Provides psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention as needed.
• Mobilizes community resources to meet identified needs.
• Ensures safe, timely, and comprehensive care within the care episode.
