Job summary

The Behavioral Health Counselor MS at IU Health Riley Hospital in Indianapolis is a full-time day position. You will facilitate patient involvement, conduct individual, group, and family counseling, and perform utilization review and discharge planning.

You will collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, timely, and comprehensive care and provide psychosocial assessments and crisis intervention. Responsibilities include serving as liaison with protective services, coordinating guardianship

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health field from an accredited college or university is required.
• License-eligibility in Indiana as LCSW, LMHC, LMFT or LCAC; must have permanent status upon hire.
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques; knowledge of CBT/MI/DBT.
• Knowledge of state/county protective services mandates and collaboration with community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient involvement in treatment, including individual, group, and family counseling.
• Performs utilization review and discharge planning functions.
• Collaborates with the health care team to ensure safe, timely, and comprehensive care.
• Interprets and communicates patient and family needs to caregivers; provides crisis intervention.
• Serves as liaison with protective services for abuse/neglect cases; coordinates guardianship, foster care, and placement actions.
