Job summary

Omnicell, Inc. is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On‑Call) to support the XR2 automation system at the Gainesville, GA customer hospital site(s).

The role covers call-outs, PTOs, LOAs, and peak needs while ensuring safe, efficient medication automation that frees pharmacy staff to focus on patient care. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, GA State Board of Pharmacy Technician license/registration, and National Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support Omnicell XR2 automation in accordance with SOPs and best practices
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy
• Perform routine equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Monitor system performance and elevate unresolved issues to TAC or the appropriate helpdesk
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies
• Communicate proactively with pharmacy leadership and customers to resolve issues
• Serve as a subject matter resource for Omnicell team members as needed
• Participate in training and maintain all required certifications and credentials

About the Role

Omnicell is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call)to support our XR2 automation system at a customer hospital site(s) in Gainesville, GA. This on‑call role provides coverage for call‑outs, PTOs, LOAs, and peak operational needs while supporting safe, efficient medication automation that enables pharmacy teams to focus on patient care.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and support Omnicell XR2 automation in accordance with SOPs and best practices
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for the state of GA (as required by state)
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB / CPhT / EXCPT)
• Working knowledge of pharmacy automation
• COV19 Vaccination

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• 2+ years of hospital pharmacy automation experience
• Experience supporting automation troubleshooting and pharmacy workflows

Skills & Attributes

• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfort working with mechanical equipment and computer systems
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint

Schedule & Work Conditions

• PRN / On‑Call (as needed)
• Coverage primarily for Callouts/Sick Calls, Vacations, LOAs, etc.
  • Shift: M-F Day (may be subject to change)
• On‑site support at our Gainesville GA site.
• This role will be good match if you are currently on a 7 on / 7 off work schedule, looking for PRN or part-time work only, etc.
• 8–10-hour shifts; hours may extend beyond normal business needs
• Ability to Travel for training
• Pharmacy environment with potential exposure to hazardous drugs
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
