Job summary

Vance Thompson Vision Surgery Center Bozeman LLC is hiring a PRN Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse to join our team in January 2027. You will assess patients, obtain histories, educate patients, and coordinate with the surgical team to ensure a safe perioperative process.

The role requires completion of an accredited RN program and an active RN license in Montana. Prior hospital or surgery center experience is preferred but not required as we value continuous learning and

Qualifications

• Completed an accredited RN program from a university or technical school.
• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Willing to learn and adapt in a perioperative setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical history and perform physical assessments.
• Educate patients per plan and explain procedures to gain cooperation.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes during care.
• Coordinate with care team to ensure safe perioperative experience.

We are looking for a PRN Ambulatory Surgery Center Registered Nurse to join our team in January 2027.You Are:Ready to live out our core values in patient and team member interactionsGood at managing multiple prioritiesAble to prioritize patient careWilling to continue learning and improve your skillsYou Will Make an Impact By:Obtaining patients’ medical history and performing physical assessment for assigned patients.Initiating a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or practice policy including patient and family instruction; explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and alleviate apprehension.Observing patients, recording significant conditions and reactions and notifies Physician of patient’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents; takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.Maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs of patients; responds to emergency situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.Being responsible for preparing the patient for the anticipated surgical procedure, including obtaining an informed consent, completing a pre-operative patient assessment, and performing any procedure or administering medications required to prepare the patient for surgeryCommunicating with the circulating nurse, the recovery room nurse, the anesthesia care provider, and the surgeon to coordinate a safe and comfortable surgical experience.Being responsible for patient assessment and maintaining the patient’s safety in recovering from anesthetic and surgical medicationsEnsuring that the patient understands their post-operative care requirements.Collaborating with other perioperative nursing staff, anesthesia care providers and the surgeon.You Have:Successfully completed an accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program from a university or technical schoolA current, valid RN license within the state of practicePrevious experience in a hospital and/or surgery center preferred not requiredInvestments in YOU:Vance Thompson Vision offers a full benefits package and competitive compensation, including:401k with company contributionsWellness Program paired with a Lifestyle Spending AccountVance Thompson Vision is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
