Job summary

Tyler ISD is seeking a PRN Medication Aide to supervise self-administered medications for Assisted Living residents under the direction of the Wellness Director.

Candidates must follow federal and state regulations, stay compliant with SSMG guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and participate in training and safety plans. This role requires strong communication with staff and residents and quick, careful responses to emergencies.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Licensed CNA, Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid must possess at least one certification and have successful completion of the medication administration training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medication per federal & state regulations and SSMG guidelines.
• Report health changes and document properly.
• Respond quickly to emergencies.
• Maintain close communication with departments and staff.
• Provide educational meetings for residents and staff.
• Follow Safety & Disaster Plan.
• Protect confidentiality of residents' information.
• Attend required trainings, in-service, and meetings.
• Promote a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
• Maintain professional demeanor with residents, visitors, co-workers.
• Follow SSMG policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
