Pelican Bay at Beaumont in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Medication Aide to supervise self-administered medication for Assisted Living residents under the direction of the Wellness Director.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide must possess at least one certification and have successful completion of the medication administration training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise self-administered medication for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMG guidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
  • Report any change in resident’s health and document to the Wellness Director.
  • Respond quickly to all emergencies.
  • Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members.
  • Provide educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by Supervisor.
  • Understand role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information.
  • Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through prevention of accidents and equipment preservation.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
CNA/HHA/PCA certification with medication administration training

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for supervision of self-administered medication for the AssistedLiving Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and SSMG guidelines as directed by the Wellness Director.
  • Reports any change in resident’s health and provides proper documentation to the Wellness Director.
  • Responds quickly to all emergencies.
  • Maintains close communication with all departments and staff members.
  • Provides educational meetings for residents and staff as requested by Supervisor.
  • Understands role in the Safety & Disaster Plan.
  • Maintains confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information.
  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of SSMG.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills / Educational Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed CNA, Home Health Aid, Personal Care Aid must possess at least one certification and have successful completion of the medication administration training course approved by the Department of Health and Senior Services.
