Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a PRN Ambulatory Clinic Nurse Care Coordinator (RN) for the GIMedical Pavilion in Kansas City, KS. You will support physicians during clinic sessions, coordinate patient care, educate patients, and ensure orders and results are properly communicated.

This role requires an active RN license (multi-state preferred), BLS certification, and 2+ years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Current active multi-state RN license or single-state RN license with multi-state license application.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartsaver certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow, triage and direct patient care in ambulatory setting.
• Coordinate care among physicians, front desk, nursing staff and clinic manager.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications and follow-up plans.
• Utilize EMR to document assessments, plans and progress toward goals.
• Ensure orders are completed and physicians are notified of results.
• Support continuity of care post-discharge, hospital admission or ER visits.
