Job summary

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking an Admissions Specialist for the Admitting department. You will welcome patients and families, collect demographics, verify benefits, and assist with pre-certifications for tests and procedures.

In this role you will educate patients on documents, capture financial information, and help ensure smooth, compliant patient experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience is required.
• 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience is preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire is preferred.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 90 Days is required.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and families when they arrive to set a calm tone for the visit.
• Gathers complete demographic information to ensure accurate electronic health records.
• Identifies network coverage and obtains/validates benefits for tests or procedures to maximize reimbursement.
• Educates patients about applicable forms and ensures required consents are signed.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensures required elements are completed accurately per MSPQ, IMM, ABN and Non-Coverage checks.
• Promotes high-quality patient care with a collaborative team approach.
