Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an IT security professional to champion data privacy and information security across FAS, aligning with the PrivSec program. The role focuses on awareness, vulnerability management, privacy initiatives, and incident response, reporting to the University Information Security and Data Privacy Office, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and researchers.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Deep understanding of applied cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with applied privacy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in higher-education environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate awareness of PrivSec risks, policies, and safeguards.
• Fortify FAS systems to PrivSec standards.
• Implement vulnerability management across FAS systems.
• Promote PrivSec initiatives across FAS.
• Conduct data safety reviews for research projects.
• Perform PrivSec risk assessments.
• Provide PrivSec briefings to FAS members.
• Report PrivSec metrics to the University Chief Information Security and Data Privacy Officer on a quarterly basis.
