Job summary

Harvard University is seeking a PrivSec-focused professional to champion data privacy and information security within FAS. The role aligns with the university’s PrivSec program and reports to the University Information Security and Data Privacy Office.

The position emphasizes awareness, system fortification, vulnerability management, privacy initiatives, and incident response, collaborating with faculty, researchers, and staff to strengthen protections and governance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of applied cybersecurity and privacy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in higher-education environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate PrivSec awareness and safeguard policies across FAS.
• Fortify systems to meet university PrivSec standards.
• Lead vulnerability management across FAS systems.
• Promote PrivSec initiatives university-wide within FAS.
• Conduct data safety reviews for research projects and risk assessments.
• Provide PrivSec briefings and report metrics to the Office quarterly.
• Advise faculty, staff, and students on PrivSec matters.
