Job summary

Harvard University Information Technology seeks an experienced PrivSec-focused IT professional to lead privacy and security initiatives across FAS. You will coordinate awareness, fortify systems, manage vulnerabilities, and support incident response in alignment with the PrivSec program.

The role reports to the University Information Security and Data Privacy Office. You will engage with faculty, staff, and researchers, delivering briefings and metrics to the Chief Information Security Officer

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of applied cybersecurity and privacy.
• Ability to communicate complex PrivSec topics clearly.
• Comfort working in a large, complex university environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate awareness of PrivSec risks, policies, and safeguards.
• Fortify FAS systems to PrivSec standards.
• Lead vulnerability management across FAS systems.
• Promote PrivSec initiatives throughout FAS.
• Conduct data safety reviews for research projects.
• Perform PrivSec risk assessments.
• Maintain awareness of PrivSec threats and trends.
• Advise faculty, staff, and students on PrivSec matters.
• Present PrivSec briefings to FAS members.
