• Experience in restaurants, schools, healthcare, corporate dining, catering, or other high-volume food service environments is a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and production requirements.
• Produce high-quality food with an emphasis on flavor, freshness, appearance, and consistency.
• Prepare proteins, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces, and other menu items as assigned.
• Set up and maintain assigned production and service stations.
• Follow proper portioning and presentation standards.
• Assist with daily food production for student dining, faculty meals, catering, and special school events.
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and cross-contact prevention procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating food and supplies.
• Minimize food waste and use ingredients and supplies responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist other members of the culinary team as needed to ensure smooth and timely meal service.

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and producing meals for students, faculty, staff, and guests in accordance with established menus, recipes, production schedules, and food safety standards.
