Job summary

Menchey School of Music is seeking a dedicated piano instructor to join our Westminster studio. You will teach private piano lessons, create engaging sessions, and support students as they grow musically and confidently.

The role involves evening and Saturday blocks, with strong studio support and opportunities to participate in frequent recitals. Ideal candidates are student-focused, professional, and organized.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of college-level music training or equivalent with 5 years of teaching or performance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or related field preferred; degree candidates encouraged.
  • Experience teaching learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred.
  • Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging private piano lessons to students of varying ages and levels.
  • Create a positive, encouraging learning environment.
  • Help students prepare for recitals and participate in performances.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records using a digital scheduling system.
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff.

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is home to a thriving private lesson program that serves students throughout the region. As the area’s largest family-owned music retailer, we’re proud to offer high-quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment.

We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic and dependable piano instructor to join our team at our Westminster studio. This is a great opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that truly values education.

Availability Needed:
One weeknight from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or one recurring 4-hour block on Saturdays

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination
  • A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply
  • Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment
