Job summary

Barings, a leading global financial services firm, seeks an Associate Director level Controller in the Global Client Operations team in the US. The role oversees multiple portfolios, client reporting, and supports both internal and external clients, with exposure to Real Estate Debt and Real Estate Equity.

The ideal candidate will have broad accounting expertise and knowledge of operational best practices. The position requires 5+ years of accounting experience, Big 4 background preferred, CPA

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, Big 4 public accounting preferred.
• Experience in fund accounting and preparation of financial statements is preferred.
• Project management skills with attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting fiduciary responsibility for firm’s private investments including real estate and CM loans.
• Coordinate with third party service providers.
• Maintain the general ledger and sub-ledgers.
• Prepare and review trial balances.
• Perform the quarterly close process.
• Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables.
• Manage workflow for capital calls and distributions.
• Implementation of fund structures on accounting systems.
• Work closely with investment teams.
• Production of client reports (month/quarterly cycles).
• Produce account level financial performance metrics.
• Interact with senior management, portfolio management team and investment analysts.
• Proactively communicate and coordinate with various internal groups.
• Interact with valuation team.
• Ad hoc reports as needed.
