Job summary

South Suburban Parks and Recreation is hiring Private Instructor Aquatics (WSI/non-WSI) for all pools on a part-time basis. The role involves teaching private or semi-private swim lessons to clients of all ages and abilities, while promoting safe swimming skills and knowledge of Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels.

Private Instructor Aquatics (WSI/non-WSI) Part-Time Hiring for all pools

This is an ongoing recruitment process, with no specific closingdate. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

Must be a Group Instructor for SSPRD to qualify for PrivateLesson Instructor

Non-WSI Private Instructor: $17.85 - $22.32 per hour

WSI Private Instructor: $20.85 - $29.25 per hour

Thisposition is responsible for teaching private or semi-private swimlessons that motivate, educate and encourage clients of all ages andvarying abilities while developing swim skills and achieving clientgoals. The Private Instructor Aquatics must maintain knowledge andunderstanding of all swimming strokes and skills, as well as knowledgeof American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim levels. This job may requireshifts ranging from morning to evening hours and weekends.

• Will possess knowledge and understanding of all swimming strokesand skills, as well as knowledge of America Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels.
• Has the ability to swim to safety with a full-grown adult andremain calm in emergencies.
• Will be able to communicate effectively with the public and otherteam members.

• Can follow and enforce all pool standards and rules.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age for non-WSI PrivateInstructor and sixteen (16) years of age for the WSI Private Instructor.
• WSI Private Instructor: American Red Cross Water Safety Instructorcertification required.
