Job summary

South Suburban Parks and Recreation seeks enthusiastic Gymnastics Instructors to teach gymnastics programs and work with children. Responsibilities include following established lesson plans, maintaining attendance, and providing progress assessments to participants.

Shifts vary, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends; a fun, challenging environment is offered to help participants build confidence and healthy living through sport.

Qualifications

• At least fourteen (14) years of age.
• Current AED/CPR/First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Concussion recognition training required and renewed annually.

Responsibilities

• Teach gymnastics and work with children following developed lesson plans.
• Keep accurate attendance records and distribute progress reports.
• Assess and monitor skill progression of participants; evaluate progress.

Job description

$16.40 - $20.90 per hour

The Gymnastics Instructor position is responsible forgymnastic instruction, keeping accurate attendance records, followdeveloped lesson plans, distribute progress reports, as well asevaluate and assess skill level and progress of all participants. Thisposition may be required to work shifts ranging from morning toevening hours and weekends.

Hiring for the following:

Monday- Friday flexible hours between 9am - 2pm (parent tot,preschool and drop in) Must be able to work 2 or more classes per week.

Monday - Friday flexible hours between 3pm- 8:30pm, Saturday 8am -3pm (recreational and pre team levels) Must be able to work 3 or moreclasses per week.

Our Ideal Candidate

• One (1) year of experience in a structured gymnastics programthrough teaching, coaching or competitions preferred.
• Must have the ability and willingness to follow instructions ofprovided lesson plans and remain engaged with participants.
• Will be competent in a variety of gymnastics skills progressionsand spotting techniques at all levels of gymnastics including competitive
• Competent in the use of a variety of gymnastics equipment.
• Will establish and maintain working relationships with employeesand the public.
• Has the ability to communicate verbally with both children and adults.
• Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellentinterpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least fourteen (14) years of age.
• Current certifications in AED/CPR/First Aid or the ability toobtain such certifications within sixty (60) days of employment
• Concussion recognition training is required and must be renewed annually.
