South Suburban Parks and Recreation is seeking part-time Swim Instructors for all pools. Responsibilities include teaching swim lessons, ensuring safety, and maintaining pool standards.
The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, as well as certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid. Employees enjoy free use of fitness centers, discounts on classes, and paid sick leave.
Non-Certified Swim Instructor - $17.05 - $21.70 per hour
WSI Certified Swim Instructor - $17.55 - $21.70 per hour
FREE Training for qualified candidates! No experience necessary but a general knowledge of basic swim strokes is a plus.
We offer reimbursement of course fees (if WSI Certification is obtained through SSPRD, excluding the $40 certification fee) after completing 3 full sessions of instruction. Non-Certified Swim Instructors will be provided free initial training.
Must be able to instruct 2 evening classes a week and/or Saturday mornings. Additional hours are available once qualified and approved to teach private lessons at a starting rate of $17.00 per hour for Non-Certified Swim Instructors and $19.85 per hour for WSI Certified Swim Instructors.
The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swim lessons that motivate, educate, and encourage students of all ages and varying abilities while developing swim skills. The ideal candidate must maintain knowledge and understanding of all swimming strokes and skills, and of American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim levels. Shifts range from morning to evening hours and weekends.
