Job summary

Thrive Education Partners in Austin, Texas seeks a warm, creative educator to lead a highly personalized home-education program for one seven-year-old learner. The role emphasizes thoughtful instruction, consistent routines, and a faith-aligned curriculum delivered in the family's private home.

You will design explicit foundational reading instruction, establish starting points in literacy and related skills, adapt curriculum, and partner with parents and the student’s support team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five or more years preferred teaching/education experience.
• Experience with autism, ADHD, language differences, or sensory needs valued.
• Experience planning lessons, monitoring progress, and partnering with parents.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead an individualized early elementary program with explicit foundational reading instruction.
• Establish starting points in reading, writing, math, and related skills; use observations and samples to guide teaching.
• Select, adapt, and deliver agreed curriculum, including faith-based resources.
• Teach with clear explanations, visuals, demonstration, hands-on practice, and appropriate response formats.
• Build a predictable daily rhythm with movement, sensory breaks, outdoor learning, and structured routines.
• Incorporate art, music, stories, science, and the student’s interests into learning experiences.
• Support practical independence through materials management, task completion, cleanup, and daily routines.
• Plan and lead community learning experiences, such as library visits and outings; provide occasional student transportation.
• Maintain active supervision and follow safety procedures during instruction, transitions, outdoor activities, and outings.
• Document learning and communicate progress, strategies, challenges, and next steps concisely.
• Collaborate with parents, household caregivers, and therapists as authorized.
