Job summary

Start Early is a champion for early learning and care, working to close the opportunity gap through program, policy, and research partnerships. We seek a Grants Associate to develop and oversee private grant budgets, align program goals with funder requirements, and ensure financial accuracy throughout the grant lifecycle.

The role reports to the Assistant Director, Private Grants and collaborates across FP&A, Program, Research, and Development to strengthen grant management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of related experience in grant administration.
• Proficient in grant budgeting, financial monitoring, and analysis for private funding.
• Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Grant/Proposal Budget Development & Support: prepare funder-compliant budgets and proposals with cross-functional teams.
• Budget Monitoring & Financial Tracking: maintain grant budget records and reconcile pledges.
• Training & Capacity Building: deliver financial training sessions for staff.
• Cross-Functional Financial Partnership: advise on resource allocation and compliance across departments.
• Other Duties: support process improvements and back-up for other finance functions.
