Soni, a national nonprofit, seeks an FP&A Specialist to manage grant budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting. This fully remote role collaborates with Finance, Development, and Program teams to ensure grant compliance and accurate analyses across multiple entities.

The position reports to the Director of Finance and supports budgeting, forecasting, and grant financial management across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2+ years of nonprofit finance, FP&A, or grant accounting experience.
  • Experience with grant budgeting, financial reporting, and nonprofit compliance.
  • Experience with Financial Edge preferred; Martus budgeting software is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage grant budgets, reporting, and compliance for foundation, government, and private funding.
  • Prepare budget-to-actual reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and financial models.
  • Partner with Development on grant proposals and funder budgets.
  • Support annual budgeting and ongoing financial planning across multiple entities.
  • Prepare journal entries, maintain staff allocations, and support month-end reporting.
  • Assist with budgeting systems, financial reporting tools, and audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with budget owners and leadership to monitor financial performance.

Job description

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Specialist supports grant management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for a national nonprofit organization. This role partners closely with Finance, Development, and Program teams to manage grant budgets, monitor budget performance, prepare financial analyses, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Position Highlights
