Job summary

JOEY Restaurants is seeking a Private Events Manager to lead the private dining program, recruit and train a top-tier events team, and drive sales through strategic collaboration with culinary and operations teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, event contract execution, budget oversight, and flawless guest experiences, with a focus on on-brand, buzzworthy events and exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in event planning, project coordination, or related field; Bachelor degree preferred.
• 2+ years’ event management experience, preferably in hospitality or restaurant.
• Must have or be able to obtain valid state Food Handler and Alcohol Server/Seller permits.
• Passion for hospitality and proven ability to create world-class experiences.
• Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, email/calendar, internet).
• Able to walk/stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Foster a cohesive team environment through exemplary leadership.
• Meet or exceed annual private event sales goals with proactive outreach.
• Recruit, train, and supervise the private events team, including evaluations and counseling.
• Train partners on private event execution per company policies.
• Lead weekly restaurant management meetings about upcoming events, menus, and staffing.
• Manage labor scheduling, budgets, and costs for private events.
• Triage and respond to private event requests via email, phone, or reservations system.
• Create and execute event contracts and banquet event orders (BEO).
• Visit stores/markets within the region to engage operations teams.
• Resolve service issues and guest complaints with urgency and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with food and alcohol safety policies.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
