Job summary

DLA Piper LLP (US) is seeking private equity associates to join its New York office. You will advise strategic buyers and sellers or private equity firms on M&A matters in a fast-growing market, with 3–7 years of experience in high-profile M&A or PE transactions.

The ideal candidate will have JD degree, NY admission, superior academics, and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Hybrid in-office with flexibility for remote work, and a challenging, rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• JD Degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in New York.
• 3 years of private equity experience at AmLaw 100 firm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research to support transaction preparation and strategy.
• Draft legal documents including memos, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist/manage complex transactions from inception to close with professional judgment.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop transaction strategies.
• Participate in client calls and high-level meetings as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.
• Pursue ongoing training to enhance legal knowledge and leadership skills.
