ConnectMe Capital,llc is recruiting on behalf of their client, a dynamic Private Equity/ Special Situations Investment firm looking for an exceptional Accountant/Finance professional to join the Finance & Operations Team.

This is not a traditional 9-to-5 accounting job. You’ll be stepping into a critical role where no two days are the same. You’ll have a hand in a little bit of everything — from fund operations and investor relations to compliance and automation projects — all while working in a close-knit, highly collaborative team that values hustle, initiative, and ingenuity.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own day-to-day accounting functions: AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting
• Take charge of monthly/quarterly fund closes and NAV reviews
• Handle investor inquiries and work closely with CFO and senior leadership
• Collaborate on fund structure challenges (SPVs, etc.) and complex problem-solving
• Help define processes and bring structure to unstructured or evolving processes/systems
• Support deal governance, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives
• Drive project-based work including automation, workflow improvement, and ad hoc requests

What We’re Looking For

• 3–8 years of experience in private fund accounting (private equity, credit, real assets, or similar)
• Strong understanding of fund structures, including SPVs and waterfall models
• Proven ability to close books and prepare financial statements
• Excel ninja: Proficiency with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.
• Experience working in unstructured or startup-like environments
• QuickBooks experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — and confident interacting with executives
• Comfortable figuring things out where no roadmap exists — a true problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Willingness to travel occasionally and operate in a hybrid work model in NYC
