Job summary

K1 Investment Management, LLC in Manhattan Beach, CA is seeking a Summer 2026 Private Equity Business Development Intern. You will learn how strong investment prospects are identified and analyzed, working closely with senior team members to understand various business models and growth levers.

Expected to participate in research, outreach to target companies, and daily BD operations while gaining hands-on exposure to private equity fundamentals. Internship may lead to full-time opportunities.

• Current junior-level standing (rising senior for Summer 2026).
• Strong communication and relationship skills.

• Interest in learning private equity and business models.

Responsibilities

• Assist with industry and target company research.
• Participate in direct outreach to target companies.
• Shadow calls with target company management and assist in company analysis.
• Support and shadow day-to-day Business Development operations.
• Work within our proprietary systems to assist with data uploading and cleanliness.
• Support current team members in various responsibilities, as assigned.
