Job summary

Pinnacle Group in San Diego is seeking an Associate for its Private Equity team. The Associate will handle all aspects of the deal process for PE deals, including secondaries and buyouts, and will work with external managers and internal teams on due diligence and execution.

The role requires three years in finance with two years in investment banking, plus one year executing PE buyouts. Strong modeling, research, and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in finance or related field
• Two years of required experience must include investment banking
• One year of required experience must include executing private equity buyouts
• Proficiency with market research, valuation analyses, and deal documentation

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of the deal process for private equity deals, focusing on secondaries and buyouts
• Source and screen direct and secondary investments across multiple stages, geographies and sectors
• Collaborate with fund managers, company leaders, bankers, and internal teams for due diligence and deal execution
• Perform financial due diligence and market research using advanced analytical models
• Prepare and present analyses and memos to senior leadership and the Investment Committee
• Negotiate and coordinate private equity closings and monitor post-close performance
• Monitor investments using proprietary data and maintain sponsor relationships
• Lead deal teams and mentor junior members
