Job summary

Blacklock Group is partnering with a leading private equity firm to grow its investment team focused on the Industrials sector. The role offers exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities through to transaction execution and portfolio management.

We seek candidates with 2–4 years in investment banking, private equity, or similar roles, with strong financial modeling, due diligence, and the ability to present findings clearly to committees.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity or related role.
• Industrials coverage, M&A execution or private equity investing experience preferred.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including LBO modeling.
• Experience conducting due diligence and evaluating business performance.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem‑solving capabilities with clear risk/value articulation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present to investment committees.
• Strong academic background, high attention to detail, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The firm invests in high-quality businesses and partners with management teams to drive long-term growth and value creation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing investment team, gaining exposure to the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluating new opportunities through to transaction execution and portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and execute investment opportunities across the Industrials sector, including business services, manufacturing, distribution, industrial technology and related subsectors.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, DCF and valuation analyses, to assess investment opportunities and potential returns.
• Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial and operational due diligence on prospective investments.
• Prepare investment committee memoranda, presentations and supporting materials for internal investment decisions.
• Support deal sourcing, industry research, market mapping and the development of relationships with management teams, advisors and intermediaries.
• Work closely with portfolio company management teams to identify growth opportunities, operational improvements and value creation initiatives.
• Monitor existing portfolio investments, reviewing financial performance, business plans and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior investment professionals throughout the investment process, from initial screening through execution and ongoing portfolio management.

Candidate Requirements

• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity or a closely related transaction-focused role.
• Strong preference for candidates with Industrials coverage, M&A execution or direct private equity investing experience.
• Demonstrated financial modeling and valuation skills, including experience with LBO modeling and investment return analysis.
• Experience conducting financial and commercial due diligence and evaluating business performance.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess investment opportunities and articulate key risks and value drivers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare investment committee materials and present findings clearly.
• A strong academic background, high attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
