Job summary

Emerald Resource Group in Columbus is seeking an Associate to join the investment team with a strong M&A/PE background. You will build financial models, analyze portfolio opportunities, and collaborate with management on strategic improvements across portfolio companies.

In this role you will support due diligence and deal execution on exits and acquisitions, prepare investment memos for the committee, and source new opportunities as capital is redeployed.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in PE, investment banking, commercial banking, private credit, business valuation, or transaction advisory
• Strong financial modeling skills and analytical instincts
• Solid accounting and finance fundamentals
• Comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once without losing the thread
• Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Build financial models and investment return analyses
• Run investment banking style analysis on portfolio companies to assess performance and sale readiness
• Work directly with management teams on operational and strategic improvements
• Support due diligence and transaction execution on both exits and new acquisitions
• Prepare presentations and investment memorandums for the investment committee
• Source and evaluate new investment opportunities as capital is redeployed
