Job summary

Alexander Chapman seeks a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in Virginia. The role offers exposure across sourcing, underwriting, due diligence, execution, and portfolio investing while working closely with senior members of the team.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in private equity or investment banking, strong modeling skills, and a generalist investment background. Relocation to Virginia will be necessary where applicable.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in private equity or investment banking; 4–5 years may be considered for the right lateral candidate.
• Strong transaction experience and financial modeling skills.
• Generalist investment background preferred.
• Open to candidates with experience across industrials, business services, healthcare, specialty distribution, transportation/logistics, or similar sectors.
• Candidates with highly specialized backgrounds in technology, fintech, energy, or other niche sectors are less relevant.
• Strong academic background and demonstrated analytical ability.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a lean, collaborative investment team.
• Must have ties to the Southeastern U.S. and be open to relocating to Virginia.
