Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a skilled nurse to perform professional nursing care under the Nurse Practice Act and physician orders in a pediatric homecare setting. You will follow client care plans, document changes, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safety and quality.

The role involves complex pediatric services, such as ventilator management and tracheostomy care, with weekend overnight shifts and potential bonuses based on performance and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
  • Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
  • The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
  • Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
  • Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
  • Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
