Job summary

First Day Homecare seeks a skilled nurse to provide pediatric private duty nursing under physician orders and in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act. Services are delivered in clients' homes.

You will document all orders in the medical record, monitor clients, administer medications as directed, and collaborate with a care team to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes. RN or LPN license and valid CPR are required; a valid driver's license is preferred; training and professional development

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents changes in orders in the medical record.
• Scope includes personal care services, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric services such as tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs duties in accordance with agency policies and payor/accreditation standards.
• Participates in care coordination and agency meetings.

Responsibilities

• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
