Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) for pediatric private duty nursing. Provides professional nursing care under physician orders, following the client’s care plan and Nurse Practice Act guidelines.

Reports to Clinical Supervisor and supports a 1:1 care model with clear documentation and coordination with the care team. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient teaching, and emergency interventions as needed, while maintaining safety and adherence to

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current license to practice as an RN or LPN in the state of operation.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Licensed driver with automobile insured as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
  • Maintains orders for clients and documents changes in the medical record following agency procedures.
  • Scope includes personal care, monitoring, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and pediatric services such as tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
  • Works collaboratively with the client care team and promotes safety for clients and coworkers.
  • Performs duties in compliance with agency policies and accreditation standards.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours:
  • 4 hours a week

  • Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
  • Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
  • The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
  • Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
  • Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
  • Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
  • Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Current CPR certification.
