Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a registered nurse to provide skilled pediatric private duty nursing in home settings in Linden, NJ. Night shift 7p-7a, seven days per week, with supervision under medical practitioner's orders.

You will assess and deliver nursing care, monitor client conditions, administer medications, document changes, and coordinate with the care team. CPR certified and an RN license required; valid driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license to practice.
• CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insurance as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Follows orders from medical practitioners and the client’s care plan.
• Documents changes in orders in the medical record per agency procedures.
• Administers medications and provides client teaching.
• Care includes pediatric-specific services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Collaborates with the client’s care team and maintains a safe environment.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
