Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking an experienced Pediatric Private Duty Nurse for night shifts in Michigan. You will provide skilled nursing care to a pediatric client from 7 PM to 7 AM, seven days a week, under medical direction.

Responsibilities include medication administration, airway care, and coordination with the client’s care team, while ensuring safety and comfort for the child and family. Flexible scheduling, 1:1 care, and comprehensive benefits support staff dedication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license to practice.
• CPR certification.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insurance as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care per state Nurse Practice Act.
• Follows physician orders and client care plans.
• Maintains orders and documents changes in medical records.
• Administers medications and provides client teaching.
• Performs pediatric services including tracheostomy care and ventilator management.
• Collaborates with the care team to coordinate services.
• Upholds safety standards and agency policies.
• Participates in meetings and completes other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
