Job summary

First Day Homecare, LLC in Michigan is seeking a PRN registered nurse to perform skilled nursing functions under medical direction for pediatric and adult clients in home settings. The RN will provide care in accordance with Nurse Practice Act and client care plans, including monitoring, medication administration, and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current RN license in the operating state.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Insured driver with a valid license.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Follows orders and the client’s care plan.
• Documents changes in orders in the medical record.
• Administers medications and monitors patient status.
• Coordinates care with the client’s care team.
• Promotes safety for clients and coworkers.
• Adheres to agency policies and standards.
• Attends agency meetings and coordinates care.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
