Job summary

First Day Homecare - Michigan is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care to pediatric and adult clients in Grand Blanc and Linden. Under medical practitioner orders, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services and follow the client’s care plan.

You will work 8–12 hours for toddler care and 6–7 hours on Fridays–Sundays for an adult client, with flexible scheduling and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an LPN in the state of operation (MI).
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Toddler aged client in need of a day nurse 8-12hrs/day (Grand Blanc and Linden)
• Adult aged client needing a day nurse Fridays-Sundays 6-7 hours/day (Grand Blanc)
