Job summary

ArentFox Schiff is seeking a Senior Associate (8th-year class or above), Counsel, or Income Partner to join its Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice. This position is open to candidates in any ArentFox Schiff office location nationwide.

The attorney will work with two partners on very large matters, second chair and independently manage matters, advising family offices and closely-held business owners, and developing sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
• Experience managing client projects from inception to conclusion, including task lists, timelines, accountability, and adapting plans as needed.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of income, fiduciary, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes.
• Willingness to step in on short notice to complete projects to meet client deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client projects and supervise junior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Advise family offices and closely-held business owners on sophisticated lifetime and testamentary planning strategies.
• Develop and implement planning techniques and tax projections; prepare client educational materials.
• Supervise others in research and projection of tax implications and communicate directly with clients to advance goals.
