Job summary

BDO USA’s Private Client Services practice seeks a Tax Manager to serve high net-worth individuals and families, coordinating tax planning and compliance with care and precision. You will lead engagements, supervise staff, and collaborate with clients and their advisers on complex tax matters.

The role emphasizes advisory work, business development, and ongoing professional development within a collaborative, high‑touch environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics required
Master’s degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
Five or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or law; public accounting or private client services preferred
CPA credential, EA credential, Attorney license or equivalent required; other certifications preferred
Experience with tax compliance software and tax research tools preferred

Responsibilities

Manages tax engagements and identifies client needs, tax planning and consulting opportunities
Gathers information with clients and advisers to prepare tax returns
Reviews returns for individuals, trusts, estates, S-Corps, foundations, partnerships, and gifts; provides feedback
Communicates with government agencies on complex matters
Conducts advanced tax research and develops recommendations for PCS leadership
Expands knowledge through client engagements and current tax developments
Prioritizes tasks and collaborates with team; supports billing and recruitment
Builds and maintains relationships with BDO professionals and external sources
