Job summary

Associated Bank’s Wealth Management team seeks a Private Bank Portfolio Manager II to oversee a portfolio of complex private banking, commercial, and CRE relationships. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of private banking or commercial banking experience with credit knowledge.
• Access to reliable transportation and ability to lawfully drive, if applicable.
• Preferred: 4+ years of private banking or commercial banking experience with credit knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of private banking, commercial, and CRE relationships to ensure sound credit quality and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and repayment sources to evaluate loan requests and structure credit appropriately.
• Prepare credit presentations and underwriting recommendations for new and existing borrowing relationships.
• Support client opportunities by developing financial analyses, profitability assessments, and lending recommendations.
• Oversee ongoing portfolio monitoring, including annual reviews, risk ratings, renewals, and covenant compliance.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, credit teams, and business partners to address portfolio needs and retain clients.
• Track key portfolio metrics such as loan maturities, documentation exceptions, and past due accounts.

Join our Wealth Management team as a Private Bank Portfolio Manager II, where you will manage and underwrite a portfolio of complex private banking, commercial, and commercial real estate relationships. In this role, you will help ensure strong credit quality, support client retention and growth, and contribute to delivering comprehensive financial solutions that meet client needs.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage and monitor a portfolio of private banking, commercial, and commercial real estate relationships to ensure sound credit quality and compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and repayment sources to evaluate loan requests and recommend appropriate credit structures.
• Prepare credit presentations and underwriting recommendations for new and existing borrowing relationships, identifying risks and mitigating factors.
• Support prospective and current client opportunities by developing financial analyses, profitability assessments, and lending recommendations.
• Oversee ongoing portfolio monitoring, including annual reviews, risk rating assessments, loan renewals, and covenant compliance.
• Partner with relationship managers, credit teams, and business partners to address portfolio needs, resolve credit issues, and support client retention efforts.
• Track and report key portfolio metrics, including loan maturities, documentation exceptions, financial reporting requirements, and past due accounts.
• Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships through additional banking and financial services while maintaining a strong presence within the community and marketplace.

Education & Experience

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of private banking or commercial banking experience with credit knowledge.
• Access to reliable transportation and the ability to lawfully drive, if applicable.

Preferred

• 4+ years of private banking or commercial banking experience with credit knowledge.
