Job summary

HCSC is seeking a privacy professional to analyze, draft, and negotiate various agreements to ensure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations. The role partners with the Privacy Office and stakeholders across the organization to drive privacy initiatives and serve as the privacy subject matter expert during negotiations with customers, vendors, and third parties.

• PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

This position is responsible for analyzing, drafting, and negotiating various agreements of the HCSC Privacy Office is asked to opine to ensure HCSC is compliant with various federal and state privacy regulations. This position is responsible for supporting and on occasion driving key privacy initiatives and projects. This position is expected to analyze the applicable privacy laws, rules, regulations including HIPAA, and assesses the impact on HCSCS operations and processes. This position will collaborate with other members of the HCSC Privacy Office and stakeholders across the organization to resolve moderately complex privacy matters. This position is the privacy subject matter expert for HCSC when negotiating with customers, vendors, and other third parties.

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Business or Legal AND 4 years experience in the healthcare industry OR 8 years experience in the healthcare industry.


• Knowledge of and experience interpreting federal and state laws.


• Knowledge of HCSC's various functional areas and departments.


• Ability leading departmental or divisional projects.


• Negotiation, analytical, facilitation, communication and presentations skills.


• PC proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Juris Doctor.


• Experience with drafting and contracting.


• Privacy and compliance experience.


• Experience working with policies and procedures.


• Ability to work independently.


• Conceptual understanding of technology systems and applications.


• HIPAA, Privacy, or Compliance certification such as CHP, CHC, CHPC, CIPP, PMP LSS, etc.


• Strong communication skills specifically communications with leadership, external vendors, and customer partners.


• Critical thinking and analytical skills.


• Detail oriented.

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in the office; 2 days remote
