Job summary

Local Now is hiring a Privacy Engineer to own privacy posture across its streaming platform. This full-stack role focuses on consent, data handling, and regulatory alignment, bridging backend and frontend systems while coordinating across Legal and Compliance.

Ideal candidates bring strong backend and frontend experience, privacy-related engineering exposure, and the ability to reason about data flows and PII across complex pipelines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with backend and frontend systems.
• Exposure to privacy, security, or compliance-adjacent engineering work.
• Ability to map data flows and understand PII lifecycle in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build consent management plumbing across client apps and backend services.
• Advance DSAR intake, verification, fulfillment, and audit trail processes.
• Maintain a living data inventory: what data is collected and where it flows.
• Implement PII-handling patterns: minimization, pseudonymization, retention, deletion.
• Coordinate privacy architecture with legal, compliance, and product teams.
• Review third-party SDKs and vendor integrations for privacy impact.
