Allen Media Group's Local Now is seeking a Privacy Engineer to lead privacy patterns across our streaming platform. This full-stack engineer coordinates consent, data handling, and compliance-adjacent work across client apps and backend services.

Ideal candidates have strong backend fundamentals, frontend experience, and a track record with privacy regulations (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR). A collaboration-focused, pragmatic approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience shipping production code across backend and frontend systems.
• Strong backend fundamentals—services, APIs, data pipelines, and storage—plus frontend experience on TV/web/mobile.
• Meaningful exposure to data privacy, security, or compliance-adjacent engineering work.
• Ability to reason about data flow across a distributed system (PII enters, moves, leaves).
• Working awareness of privacy regulations (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR).

Responsibilities

• Build and coordinate consent management across client apps and back-end services.
• Contribute to DSAR intake, verification, fulfillment, and audit trail processes.
• Maintain a living data inventory—what data is collected, where it lives, how it flows.
• Implement PII-handling patterns (minimization, pseudonymization, retention, deletion).
• Coordinate with ad-tech to respect consent and regulations.
• Review third-party SDKs and vendor integrations for privacy impact.
• Translate regulatory requirements into engineering controls with Legal/Compliance.
• Architect privacy across client apps, backends, data pipelines, and vendors.
• Instrument privacy signals in production and monitor posture over time.
• Advise feature teams to practice privacy-by-design during delivery.
