Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to build internal tools and data pipelines powering lawful data access workflows and Legal Operations. You will translate operational requirements into durable, auditable systems and work across product and data stores to ensure accurate, auditable retrieval of records.

The role emphasizes strong backend fundamentals, production services experience, and a focus on security, privacy, and least-privilege access.

Qualifications

• Experience building or operating systems for lawful data access requests and references to privacy/security constraints.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into durable systems with auditable workflows.
• Strong backend fundamentals and experience with data-intensive production services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend systems and workflow tooling for lawful data access requests from intake to audit.
• Build reliable data pipelines and interfaces across products and data stores for accurate record handling.
• Implement least-privilege access, approval gates, provenance, audit trails, and data minimization.
• Collaborate with Legal and Operations to translate requirements into technical designs and operator experiences.
• Own production systems through testing, observability, incident response, and reliability improvements.
