Job summary

Beacon Software is seeking a strategic Privacy Counsel to build and lead its privacy program across the portfolio. You will shape policy, risk governance, and data protection standards, spanning pre-acquisition diligence through integration and ongoing operations.

You will collaborate with IT, governance, risk, and product teams to implement privacy-by-design, manage cross-border transfers, and stay aligned with evolving U.S., Canadian, and EU privacy regimes.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and bar in good standing (California, New York preferred).
• 7+ years of privacy law experience at a top-tier firm or 5–7 years in-house at a tech company.
• Experience building or leading a privacy function with governance frameworks.
• Deep expertise in multi-jurisdictional privacy law (US, Canada, EU/UK).

Responsibilities

• Architect Beacon’s privacy program from inception, including policies, DPAs, and ROPAs.
• Lead privacy due diligence in M&A and drive post-close integration.
• Draft and maintain privacy documentation and templates across the portfolio.
• Partner with IT, Product, and Operations to embed privacy-by-design.
• Monitor and advise on cross-border data transfers and regulatory requirements.
