Job summary

Medidata Solutions is seeking a Privacy & AI Engineer to advance privacy controls across the SDLC and mature AI governance within our legal and product teams. You will lead PIAs/DPIAs, document system risk assessments, and collaborate with information security to ensure compliant data flows for clinical trial data.

You will partner with cross-functional teams on model cards, disclosures, and regulatory obligations while supporting privacy operations and program management initiatives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in privacy engineering, data governance, or related technical compliance role.
• Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, UK GDPR, LGPD, and US state privacy laws.
• Familiar with AI governance frameworks: NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, EU AI Act.
• Hands-on privacy engineering: data minimization, de-identification, pseudonymization, access control, audit logging.
• Ability to translate legal/regulatory requirements into actionable specs and product controls.
• Experience with PIAs/DPAs and cross-functional data protection reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement privacy controls across the SDLC with R&D, engineering, data science, and security partners.
• Lead PIAs and DPIAs for new or modified products with emphasis on personal data and AI/ML components.
• Collaborate with information security to evaluate data-flow architectures for compliance with data protection frameworks.
• Document AI risk assessments and governance artifacts for product teams and external disclosures.
• Track regulatory obligations and coordinate with cross-functional partners for compliance activities.
