Job summary

Medidata, a leader in digital solutions for clinical trials, seeks a Privacy & AI Engineer to advance privacy by design and responsible AI governance from our New York City HQ. You translate regulatory requirements into technical controls and scale privacy programs with cross-functional partners.

This role reports to the VP, Associate General Counsel, Privacy & AI, and requires 6+ years in privacy engineering with GDPR/HIPAA knowledge and Python proficiency.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in privacy engineering, data governance, or similar.
• Fluent with GDPR, HIPAA, UK GDPR, LGPD, and US state privacy laws.
• Experience with DPIAs/PIAs and cross-functional reviews.
• Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting language.

Responsibilities

• Design privacy controls across Medidata's SDLC with R&D and security.
• Lead PIAs and DPIAs for new or modified products.
• Collaborate on data flows for compliance with data protection frameworks.
• Document AI risk assessments and governance mappings (NIST RMF, ISO 42001, EU AI Act).
• Track regulatory obligations and support governance disclosures.
