Job summary

Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Qualified Mental Health Professional in Salem to work in the Behavioral Health Unit at Oregon State Penitentiary. You will identify mentally ill/institutionalized individuals, conduct mental status examinations, and develop treatment plans with risk management.

Join a multidisciplinary team providing crisis services, case management, and release planning. Requires graduate degree and QMHP certification, with incentives for bilingual or leadership QMHPs.

Qualifications

• This position requires a graduate degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, art therapy, or behavioral health science.
• Possession of a current QMHP certification, or eligibility noted in rules.
• Licensed nursing or occupational therapy credentials may apply where specified.
• Demonstrated competencies in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Initial identification/Assessments of mentally ill or DD AICs.
• Crisis Intervention and suicide prevention.
• Develops treatment interventions, behavior plans, and risk management plans.
• Provide crisis services and case management support.
• Documentation of records and release planning.
• Participation in consultation and training; group facilitation.
