Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional for the Behavioral Health Unit at the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem. The role focuses on identifying mentally ill and developmentally disabled individuals, conducting mental status exams, suicide assessments, and developing treatment and risk management plans within a multidisciplinary team.

You will provide crisis services, coordinate case management, and participate in group therapy and training.

Qualifications

• A graduate degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, art therapy, music therapy, or behavioral health science.
• Possession of a current QMHP certification or equivalent licensure.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing and licensed by Oregon, or occupational therapy degree and licensed.
• One year (1,920 hours) of full-time experience or approved internships demonstrating required competencies.

Responsibilities

• Initial identification/assessments of clients within the institution.
• Crisis intervention and management as needed.
• Suicide prevention and risk assessment.
• Case management and coordination of services.
• Delivery of treatment services and support.
• Records management and documentation.
