Qualifications

• Must hold a current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Must hold current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) controlled substances registration.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete medical histories and physician examinations; orders diagnostic tests, interprets results, prescribes medications, and renders treatments.
• Inspects, completes, and analyzes medical records; assigns classifications; writes admission, progress, and discharge notes; rounds on patients.
• Refer patients to specialists for consultations, evaluations, and treatments.
• Provide after-hours and weekend patient care in rotation with other physicians.
• Directly supervise all physicians and mid level practitioners; oversee unit medical department operations and ensure compliance with standards.
